Fall Leaf Tours: A Tourist Attraction Where You Can See Leaves Turn Color

Fall Leaf Tours

A tour where you can watch leaves change colors.

Fall is here, and the leaves are changing color. It’s a beautiful sight to see. If you live in an area where fall foliage is abundant, then you probably already know how much fun it is to drive around, looking at the trees and seeing the colors change.

But did you know there are places where you can get out of the car and walk among the leaves? These are called leaf tours, and they’re becoming increasingly popular.

Leaf tours are a unique way to enjoy nature while also learning about the seasons. They give visitors a chance to see the beauty of autumn without having to leave their cars.

What’s the best month for fall foliage?

The answer depends on what part of the country you live in. In some areas like New England, the peak months are October through November. But if you live somewhere else, such as California or Florida, September might be your favorite time.

In general, most people think that September is better than other times because, by this point, all the colorful leaves have fallen off the trees. So when you visit during this period, you’ll be able to appreciate the scenery.

Some leaf tours take place year-round, but others only happen during certain parts of the season. For example, one of my favorites takes place each spring in North Carolina. The state has over 1 million acres of deciduous forests, which consist mainly of oak trees. This gives me plenty of opportunities to look at those gorgeous oaks turning red with new growth. And every March, I love getting up early so I can go hiking along the Blue Ridge Parkway before the sun comes up.

If you want to experience something, check out the following places:

1) North Carolina State Parks Fall Foliage Trail

There are several trails throughout the state where you can hike right alongside the vibrant shades of green. Some include the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Pisgah National Forest, and Roan Mountain Nature Preserve.

2) South Eastern Pennsylvania Heritage Area

Located near Gettysburg, PA, this park offers more than10 miles of walking paths lined with massive old trees.

3) Washington D.C.’s Rock Creek Park

One of the oldest parks in America, this scenic location features nearly 6 miles of paved pathways perfect for enjoying the sights and sounds of autumn. Plus, many of its trees were planted back in 1878, making them even older than the national forest surrounding them!

4) Connecticut River Valley

Take advantage of the numerous trail systems located within the region. My personal favorite is the Appalachian Trail System in Massachusetts. With almost 30 miles of trails, this system allows hikers to explore urban landscapes and pristine wilderness.

5) Vermont’s Green Mountains

Since ancient Native Americans inhabited the area, Vermont has been known for producing some of the world’s nest maple syrup. Nowadays, maple products dominate local businesses, but the state also boasts over 200 farms dedicated to growing apples, pears, grapes, cherries, blueberries, and pumpkins. It was first developed in 1936 and named after Miss Florence Conklin, who owned property nearby.

6) Central Oregon Coast Range

Although it may not seem like many lands here, there are some beautiful spots. During the fall season, visitors often flock to Florence to see the breathtaking views of Mount Hood from Highway 26.

7) Northern Michigan Upper Peninsula

“UP” consists of thousands of lakes surrounded by dense pine forests.

8) New York City’s Hudson Valley

While many enjoy visiting NYC just for seeing a Broadway show or eating at a fantastic restaurant, they don’t know about the beauty of the city’s surroundings. If you’re looking for great places to view nature, then head west on Route 9D toward Beacon Falls. Here, you will find endless swaths of untouched woodland filled with wildlife, including whitetail deer, foxes, turkeys, and bears.

9) Maine Woods Region

If you visit Maine between October and April, you’ll be able to witness spectacular color changes that occur when leaves turn yellow, orange, and finally scarlet. These colors usually last until late May.

10) California Redwood Forests

Another popular destination for tourists hoping to catch a glimpse of colorful scenery in Big Sur. Home to towering redwoods, dramatic cliffs, and rugged coastline, this part of southern California attracts people from all around the globe.

11) Western Australia Outback

Many travelers y into Perth and choose to stay inside the perimeter instead of venturing outside. But what they do miss out on is genuinely stunning vistas. So why not book yourself on an adventure tour? Make sure you have enough time to stop off at Lake Clifton, home to some incredible waterfalls.

12) Columbia Gorge & Portland Metro Area

Visitors traveling through Portland typically stick to downtown since it’s full of museums, shops, and restaurants. However, if you venture eastward, you’ll come across lush forests, rolling hills, farmlands, and vineyards.

These are some places where you can visit and have a pleasant moment along with your loved ones!
