What does the family Centre do for me?

The Family Center is a place where families can learn about their options to find support and resources for themselves or each other. The Family Center provides services free of charge to all clients who qualify as low-income. Services include Information on available programs such as Medicaid, food stamps, housing assistance, child care subsidies, health insurance, etc., referrals to community agencies and organizations, Information on how to apply for these benefits, help with applying for federal aid, general education classes, job training, counseling sessions, parenting skills workshops, parent-child playgroups, children’s activities, adult education courses, social events, etc.

What are examples of family support services?

1) Child Care Subsidy Program – This program helps parents pay for childcare costs by providing them with monthly cash payments based on income levels.

2) Food Stamps – A government benefit designed to provide financial relief from hunger. It allows eligible individuals to purchase groceries at lower prices than they would typically be able to afford.

3) Health Insurance – Provides coverage for medical expenses not covered by private insurers.

4) Housing Assistance – Offers rental assistance through public housing authorities. PHA’s offer rent supplements to people whose incomes fall below certain limits set by HUD regulations. In addition, many local governments have created “affordable housing” programs that use tax revenue generated by property taxes paid by homeowners to subsidize rents for those residents living within designated
areas.

5) Unemployment Benefits – These benefits may be received either directly by you or indirectly if you receive money from an individual retirement account. You must meet specific requirements to receive this type of benefit.

6) Welfare Programs – States and counties provide several welfare programs. Some require only one parent to participate, while others allow both parents and caregivers to participate. Many of these programs also cover healthcare needs and transportation.

7) WIC – Women Infants Children nutrition program. Eligibility depends upon age, number of dependents, household size, income level, etc.

8) Workforce Development Programs – This includes state-funded employment centers which assist employers in finding qualified workers. They usually offer career development advice and technical guidance on hiring practices. Also included are vocational rehabilitation offices, which provide job placement services and work readiness assessments. Other workforce development programs exist throughout the country, such as Job Corps, Trade Adjustment Assistance, Community Service
Employment Centers.

9) Youth Development Programs – These programs focus on helping youth develop positive life habits,  including self-esteem confidence. For decision example: making Community ability, Action problem Agencies, solving Job skills, Corps good Centers, communication Adult abilities, Education, etc.

10) Social Security Disability Insurance – If your employer does not contribute enough towards your pension plan, then it will be necessary to file a claim for disability benefits under Title II of the Social Security Act.

11) Medicaid – The federal health insurance program for low-income families and individuals who do not qualify for Medicare. States can choose whether or not to accept Medicaid funding. Most states do so, but some refuse funds.

12) Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program is another name for food stamps. SNAP provides free food coupons to all Americans over 18 years old who live below 185% of the poverty line.

13) Temporary Assistance for Needy Families – TANF is a block grant program administered by each State Department of Human Services. Each State receives $16 billion per year to help its version of the program: all 50 States plus Washington D.

Is the Family support center Free?

The answer is yes. The family support centers are free of cost for all. But, you have to pay a nominal amount as an application fee. You can apply online or offline through any bank branch. If your bank does not provide this facility, you can approach the Child nearest Care post Subsidies office – and Federal get subsidies.
