Tips & Tricks:

For smoother peanut butter, reduce the granulation level of the sugar. Instead of 3tablespoons, use less than half. Try experimenting with different levels of sweetness to nd what works best for you.

The type of peanut butter you end up with depends on the size of your batch. A smaller batch yields chunkier peanut butter, whereas a bigger batch results in a smooth spread.

To get rid of excess oil, strain through cheesecloth or ne mesh strainer. Discard solids left behind.

This recipe can also work well with other dry roasted nuts such as almonds, cashews, hazelnuts, etc… Just adjust the amounts accordingly.

Use only new, clean equipment when preparing homemade peanut butter. Avoid using old appliances because they could contaminate the product. Also, avoid storing jars in direct sunlight. This might cause the oils inside to oxidize, which makes the peanut butter rancid.

Don’t add extra salt while processing the peanuts. Salt tends to draw moisture out of the nuts. That means there would be no need to add additional liquid during blending.

When adding the peanuts to the food processor, start by pulsing the machine slowly.

Once the mixture starts coming together, increase speed gradually.

Don’t overprocess the mix. Overprocessing causes the peanut butter to become grainy.

It takes time to develop the right consistency for homemade peanut butter. Keep mixing every few minutes until the desired consistency is achieved.

Try not to let the mixture sit around for very long after processing. Otherwise, the natural oils in the peanuts will separate from the rest of the mix. When stored properly, homemade peanut butter keeps its quality for several days.
